rear 7" drop with 20's
I'm slowly getting my frame back together and I'm doing a 7" drop on the rear.....5" springs and 2" blocks. Now I was wondering if someone with a 7" drop and 20's could get me a measurement from the bottom of the frame to the ground at the rear of the frame? It just doesn't seem low enough, now I have no body on the frame but I still would like to see how close I am or maybe where everyone else is at.
Thanks

Re: rear 7" drop with 20's
I ran out to the shop and mesured. From the very end of the rear from rail to the ground it was 16 and 3/4 inches.

Re: rear 7" drop with 20's
thanks Scott......I think I'm between 22 and 23, now like I said I don't have the body on it and I don't think with the body on it is going to drop another 4 or 5 inches. Scott it looks like you got 40 series tires on your truck, I got 45 series on the rear so I would lose about 1.5" if I went to 40's. I wonder if I was sent the right springs?

Scott, your truck looks awesome!
Would you mind posting a few more pictures? Maybe a side view and a few different angles. Thanks, Mike |

Re: rear 7" drop with 20's
Here are a few more. Some are from before the restoration but it has the same drop before and after.

Re: rear 7" drop with 20's
An axle to frame measurement would take tire diameter out of the equasion. I know with my 6" drop the axle touches the bumpstop with a full gas tank.
