Exclamation 1972 C-10 will be CRUSHED!

I posted before how I found a 1972 Chevy Pickup, fleetside, longbox in a Mopar Dealer's Junkyard. Well, I just found out that it is going to be CRUSHED anytime now. Scrap metal prices are at an all time high.

Anyone who would like to save this pickup, please post or email me ASAP. They thought it was going to be crushed sometime this week. Price I am guessing will be $500-1000 (the same price the truck would get for being crushed into a cube). I think it was a running truck when parked there.

The Truck is located 2 hours south of Albany, NY or about 2 hours north of NYC.

I may be able to get some parts off the truck before it is crushed but you must let me know ASAP. I would consider buying it myself but I do not have the means of transporting it or a place to store it. I thought that I would at least give someone the opportunity here to save it for parts or whatever.

That looks like some really nice sheet metal on that truck! The inside of the cab looks outstanding. I would love to have that stock radio and dash.

Not quite $500/ton yet, but getting close. I heard $375 which is still very high. Many of the junkyards in this area are getting rid of a lot of their inventory especially the junk that has been picked over already.
This truck has not been picked over because it is in a private company "junkyard" that is not usually open to the public.

Because of the steel shortage I was told the prices on body panels and such is going to go through the roof!!
I just ordered a set of Goodmark short/fleetside box sides.

Well some of the price of the panels is in the steel but if you do the math on weight at 4 or 500 a panel for swb fleetsides or a hundred and somethin' for a front fender right now most of the cost is NOT in the price of the steel. The price should go up but if it goes through the roof then something stinks.

a guy on ROP that I'm good friends with is a junkman and tows in 8-10 cars a week and figures that he makes around 100 grand a year. That also includes whatever he sells on ebay (parts or whole cars, just sold a motorless 69 charger that he got for FREE for scrap for 3500 bucks).

yeah, scrap is down in the midwest, already back to the point where it took off at 35$/ton, a little more for the sorted stuff. I think that they are tring to pull one over on you and make you want to "save" it. The last truck i took in complete and sold for scrap netted me a whopping $73/the whole truck. That was 2 weekends ago.

Scrap prices are in the toilet again. A month ago it was $180 a ton. NOT the $500 you were told. And the $180 a ton is the best its been in 10 years. This week it dropped to $50 .

You should try and convince the dealer to part it out....

Or maybe a deal to let you part it for parts you might need or a % of the profits....
