Painless Wiring Kit - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Hey guys. Any advice on the kits before I attempt mine? I have a 1970 K10 lifted and just got a kick arse motor! Going in in the next few weeks I will post pics with the build.

I need to redo the electric in this beast!

Here she is a few years back. Looks the same today. Just in garage with about 1/4' of dust.

I use and sell M&H wiring. It is exactly like the original stuff with all of the original plugs. Come with all clips and gutters preinstalled too. If you want to go to HEI ignition, we sell them pre-wired, same as going to an internaly regulated alternator. WES

Just out of curiosity how much is it? my truck is stock and I've been toying with the idea but I'm worried about acrewing up the wiring too.

I guess it all depends on what you're looking for. If keeping the truck stock is important then go with something like Wes has. If that's not important then use a Painless kit. In my 69 C20 I went with a Painless kit because it is anything but a stock truck (as can be seen by my pictures). The Painless kit has a lot of options for things like power windows, electric fan, etc. For me it was a good fit and I was happy with it.

Thanks guys. This thing is bone stock for electric. And no plans of getting fancy either.

If you have stock, I would recommend a stock type harness. They can add HEI and later alternator if desired. To do a Painless style right takes a long time. 'Letric Limited and M&H both make good harness.
