Swap 67-68 Chevy hood onto a 72 GMC
I have a hood off of a 67-68 chevy pick-up. I would like to use it on my 72 GMC. Is this swap possible? What do I need to change to make it work?

I think you will have to swap the whole front clip. never tried it myself so I'm not sure.

I'm thinking of doing the same thing...what I have narrowed it down to is:
you need the hood (obviously) and the rad support from a 67-68 gmc. Fenders will be a bit different due to the trim around the edges, but i think it will still fit, it will just have some extra lips around the edges

I think the upper grille bar is shorter on the 67-68 than the 69-72, other than that I would think it would fit. I dont know if there are any latch issues.

Pretty sure on a GMC all you need is the shorter grill bar and maybe the hood latch. The fenders are the same on GMC 67-72 with the exception of the 67 not having the side marker. I don't think you can use the "eyebrows" with the shorter grille bar so you might have to weld up four holes

the fenders on the gmc are the same as the 67-68 chevy. they have the same slop on the front of them

So with a chevy you could just use the hood latch then?If you didn't mind the fenders not quite matching?Has anyone done this or have a pic.I've thought about it but figured it would be too costly but if that's all it would take i might reconsider.

For GMC; Hood latch (I think), shorter top bar and hood (I know this part). For Chevy; I don't know, and don't care yet! All I got is GMC's :
