center force clutchs
advancew auto where i work can get me a center force dual frication clutch for 309 before my discount i put a clutch in my truck a year ago and it wore out i've adjusted it all the way and its just gone i want to get a good product this time will the center force clutch give me a hard clucth pedel? does anyone have one in there truck?

I have a super brute force clutch wich is ceramic and it flat is engaged or not there is no "slipping" the clutch. I have it behind a 500hp BBC and it works great, kinda tough to drive sanely cause it grabs immediately. I am sure anything brute force is good. I have a clutch from Summit centerforce but a stock replacement like $200 and it is good as well.

I have centerforce stage 2 clutch in my truck which i bought from a local performance shop, cannot remember the price. Its behind a mild built 454. I like the clutch, I dont think it has a very hard pedal at all, I only have about 450 miles on it but i like it so far..you can slip it, its not too terribly grabby.

I also got the Centerforce Stage 2 when I put my new(er) motor in last winter. Seems to hook up very well, no complaints here.

I have a Centerforce 1 that has been in the truck for ~4 years now. Not any heavier to operate than the previous clutch. Fine clutch.
...burnt the clutch out in a year? Did you replace the pilot bushing/bearing at the last rebuild? Did you resurface the flywheel? Do you like slipping the clutch to start out in third from a dead stop? Is the clutch input shaft bent? These are some, but not all of the things that help a clutch wear out in just a year. |

I've got a dual friction in mine too. It has a good firm pedal. And everybody I've talked to said they last a long time. No problems with mine so far since the install a year and a half ago.

i replaced everything but didnot resurfaced the flywheel because it didn't look bad i'm not hard on it a few hard shifts but nothing badi have drivin about 4,00 miles in the last year. it was a dynopak clucth from o rileys i replaced the trans last year also. this time i will be getting a new flywheel
