What year is this tub?
I'm not sure of the year but the tub I have is smooth all the way across the back of the bed. NOT like the one here.

The one I have had 72 doors on it but I'm not sure of the year. I'll try maybe to decode the vin.

Re: What year is this tub?
I'm not sure I understand what you mean by "smooth across the back", since your picture does not show what you are talkin' about.

Re: What year is this tub?
Earl, not sure if it holds true but the mirror on the windshield or the lack of the raised section of the windshield frame for the mirror mount might give it away. The doors with the reinforcing screw have been debated to death as it appears that they may have been on Blazers/Jimmy's going back to 70. The Vin will give it away for sure. 71-2 had factory disc brakes were 69-70 did not and I believe that holds true for Blazers. There are also some subtle differences in the electrical layout between 71-2s. The real critical point is how much metal is left and what options were left~~ Have fun

Re: What year is this tub?
The `72 VIN#s are different from the earlier.Chevy would start with CK and GMC would start with TK on 4wds,instead of just a K.

Re: What year is this tub?
The Vin# will tell for sure but I believe it is a '72 only thing. For some reason I think they changed something in the way the rear bumper mounts and these cutouts allow for the brackets to go direct into the frame. I think GeeEmm had something on this in one of his threads.

Re: What year is this tub?
Where is GeeEmm, I had some links to his project and can't find them. I looked for him in the member listing and couldn't find him there either. Did I miss something?
Chuck's right, GeeEmm had to modify the rear of his jimmy to include the cutouts. Rg
