Interesting Factory 1967 Mirrors - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I saw a pair of these mirrors on a 67 1/2 ton Chevy longbed. I've never seen the staggard door mounting before.

Also, I don't know if the pic will show the glove box options, but it included "04A974C Spare Wheel Lock EQ". Never heard of that either.

Too bad someone already got the 411 posi rear end as stated on option sheet

Those are NOT factory mirrors. The holes in the doors show you where the originals were. During the mid-70's, the trend was toward West Coast mirrors. Most that I saw had the mounts above and below the windows, instead of the mount you see, but there was a buttload of those that were sold....and installed by their owners....wherever they saw fit to put them.

IT LOOKS LIKE FROM THE PICTURE, THAT DOOR HAS HAD AT LEAST 2 DIFFERENT STYLES OF MIRRORS ON IT. HERES A PICTURE OF A SET OF MIRROR BRACKETS THAT I BOUGHT OFF EBAY. NOTICE THE BOTTOM BRACKET IS DIFFERENT THAN THE ONE IN DTILLYS PHOTO, BUT EVERYTHING ELSE APPEARS TO BE THE SAME. (INCLUDING THE TOP MOUNT IN QUESTION)THESE MIRRORS ARE N.O.S & CAME IN A G.M. BOX. I DON'T THINK I'D BE TO QUICK TO SAY THAT THOSE ARE AFTERMARKET MIRRORS.

From what I can see, the mirror brackets are the same as my 72 C10 from arizona. They are called JR West Coast mirrors. The only thing different is the back of the mirrors. The factory style from what I have seen will have vertical stacked chevrons >>> ( I think that is what they call them things)

IT LOOKS AS THOUGH THOSE MIRRORS IN DTILLYS PICTURE WERE PAINTED WHITE. THEY MOST LIKELY STARTED OUT LIFE WITH YELLOW CHEVRONS LIKE THESE.

There was a bunch of stuff in there like a vacuum gauge cluster in a big truck cab in the weeds that I didn't grab and some GMC parts I wanted but didn't have enough money for it. But seriously I've been looking for a 4:11 rear end for my '72 Blazer with mismatched front and rear axle ratios since we bought it. Right now I've got 4:10 in front and 3:08 posi in rear. Glad someone had enough time to look the place over, I got there an hour before he closed so I didn't have time enough to look in anything real good. Happy Hunting!

where is this place as we are planning a trip this fall. going back to Waukegan to visit.

68C15, It's about a 40 acre junk yard just outside Sullivan WI on North 18. Mostly cars, and the trucks there are mostly rusted out #ords, and the Chevys there are mostly rusted away or picked apart. He has a wild assortment of snow mobiles and different kind of boats too.

MJN, I saw that dash in the old C-60 truck too, but it didn't have a tach so I left it there. There was some interesting stuff back there if you walked through chest high thistle bushes to see. I'll ask what he wants for the rear end, but I don't have a place to keep it, any ideas? What GMC stuff could you have seen that was worth taking?

The diagonal mount for the west coast jrs came in after '69 with the blazers. The older ones mounted to the top of the door frame. K/5s dont have a frame around the upper window, so it must be '69 or later. West Coats Jrs were usually listed on the glove box door if they were an ordered option.

dtlilly, I'm not sure where you could keep that rearend if you did get it. Maybe we could work something out. The GMC stuff was just a blue dash bezel, and there were a couple decent GMC grilles in there too and the usual horn buttons and other little trim pieces on them.

You know...I forgot those colored dash bezels were worth anything. I think there was a grey one on a GMC truck too. Those horn buttons were weathered, but easily fit in a tool box

The grilles were salvageable, especially on the green GMC up on top of the hill to the left as you walk in, that one also had a fairly acceptable fleetside tailgate.
