Edelbrock 1406 Carb throttle cable bracket ?

I just put a new carb on my 350 Auto Jimmy. I used the old quadrajet throttle bracket which seemed to work fine, but I don't think I am getting enough travel on my cable to really open the carb up all the way and my gas pedal is lower. Do I need a different bracket or can I bend or modify the old quadrajet bracket. Also my transmission is not kicking down like it should, this was like this before the carb swap. The tranny is just rebuilt. Any help? Thanks

I used the Lokar setup on our 65 Mustang, worked out really nice and it's a pretty cheap part as far as Lokar goes.

Re: Edelbrock 1406 Carb throttle cable bracket ?

I thought about trying Lokar. I know that there are guys who have done this same swap, I have done it 3 times but with a powerglide and a 4 speed all different linkage. It looks like the stock throttle bracket would work fine and it kinda does but I don't think it gives me quite enough travel. Thanks

Try an oem kickdown bracket that bolts to the intake manifold. Holley sells one, too, that is just like the oem. Lokar sells an oem style kickdown kit that includes the stock black detent cable and a stainless oem style bracket or you can buy just the bracket from them.
