Need help on motor ID
I recently purchased a 68 K10 and am not sure of the motor I have. The PO thinks its a 350. I was told 350's were not available in the 68 model year.
The casting # on the block is 3970010 and found the in 68 that # was on the 327. Also that this # is on the 350. I am confused. Can anybody tell me if I have a 327 or 350. Or what is the easiest or best way to tell which it is. IE: What #'s to look for and what those #'s are for each block. Thanks in advance. |

The block No. 3970010 was on the 327 and 350. If it is the original block it will be a 327. Too double check this look for a number stamped on the block pad infront of the passenger side head. Eg. V 0511 YX. The YX will tell you what engine you have. A 68 K10 327 will be YX and YT.
