Horn troubles
What are common causes of horn not working? I have it plugged in, no blown fuses....

1. Bad Horn, try using a jumper wire to see if it's good
2. Dirty or worn contacts in the steering colume 3. Bad horn relay

Yep, and it's usually the slip ring that you (or someone else) forgot to put back in... :p

LOL!
Interesting point on the slip ring for the non-tilt column, it has a tapered end that rides in the upper bearing race, and holds it all steady. If you (or some one else) forgets it, you'll know bretty darned quick. |

What does that piece looke like? Is it that white plastic, circular piece with the little push button switch on it that comes off of the column? How do I test the above listed items? Is there some way to replace the contacts?

Yep, it's usually white or black plastic with a brass ring on it. There is a spring loaded thingy that contacts the underside of the "dish" that mounts to the wheel under the horn button cap.
If you short the wire that attaches to it, it should honk the horn, or at least click the relay. If the relay clicks, put the steering wheel back on. You're looking in the wrong place...
