tilt question revisited, red or black
A little while ago, the question was raised about factory truck tilts having a red or black hazard button. It seemed to be quite an issue. Well, I noticed these pictures in a 1972 dealer brochure. The first picture is of a Cheyenne with a non-tilt auto column with the red button. The second is of a Cheyenne Super with a tilt auto column with a black button. I live in the south-east and every truck tilt I have seen around here (and I've seen at least 10) have the black button.

I looked at 5 tilts recently.
4 were with black and 1 was with red. The 4 spd tilt was black I looked at also.

I'd say that tilts came with black knobs... it seems to me that any red ones were just replacement switches from a non-tilt put in to replace a worn out tilt signal switch more than likely. Too many original tilts I have seen have the black.
