Question What are the tailgate top edge protector options??

Seen the polished stainless steel tailgate top edge protector and the stick on rubber molding that LMC sells. Are there any others out there, if so do tell, please......

Re: What are the tailgate top edge protector options??

I installed a '73 and newer diamond tread plate style on my '71 tailgate. The '73 and newer 'gates are a bit thicker so I had to "spread" the metal a bit to make it fit. Worked out well and looks good. I looked at the smooth stainless protector and it just looked "to plain" Fastened it down with 4 or 5 self tapping screws.

I had a polished stainless steel tailgate edge protector on my truck that the previous owner put on and I took it off, if anybody wants it they can have it for the freight charge.

I have the polished stainless one from PUTCO. My dad has the 4 piece kit from LMC on his bed.
