need a laugh? funny story about this morning

so I live in an apartment and the manager knows my truck and loves it, so do most of the people that live in my complex. however, there is ONE lady who cannot stand my truck or anything about it. so im warming it up this morning, not revving, just idling for a minute because thats what you do for a motor you want to last. this lady, must be in her 40's and is deffinetly a liberal tree "lover". she walks up to my truck with this stick up her ass look and gets to the tailgate and starts trying to get my attention. i see her in the mirror and already know whats coming but she wont come to the window, almost like she was waiting for me to get out. finally with a huff and puff she walks up and says "SIR...SIR...I can smell your truck running can you park it somewhere else?" I told her that this was the spot the manager assigned me and id get ticketed for parking anywhere else. She says "well I think you should park it somewhere else, and you obviously have a problem with your smog, and your truck is leaking fumes that are not healthy!" now keep in mind, my truck is idling this whole time and she is struggling to talk over the huge cam lope and long tubes with flowmasters dumped about 2 feet from where she is standing, and it was still cold so it was that, just started the truck, lope that vibrates the tailgate too. I kept a straight face the entire time, every once in a while giving her the "what? I cant hear you can you speak up" finally she said "whatever!" and walked away with her phone up to her ear looking at me as if to say im telling lol

made my day (;

Re: need a laugh? funny story about this morning

I had somebody tell me once how environmentally unfriendly my truck is. I asked him if he wanted to see how unfriendly I can be. I'm kinda scary looking anyways.....lol.

I would have revved the gas slightly every time she tried to speak, and then just said "What?" each time.

This. I had a lady approach me at a gas station once in my truck, going off about how bad it was for the environment.

I looked at her straight faced and asked, "why dont you support recycling?" Caught her so off guard she just stood there for a second.

While her Prius battery is dead and at the bottom of a landfill, my '72 will still be on the road. I read an OOKALA report several years ago that found the life cycle analysis of an old carbed motor vs a hybrid was close to the same in terms of overall environmental damage. The reasons primarily being how nasty those batteries are and the length of use before replacement with the old junk.

You need to install a flame thrower!!
A little less hair on their ankles will make them sing a different tune!!

Want to really get her goat. Hook a long piece of vacuum hose to the intake manifold. run it into the cab. put a pencil in the end. have a quart of diesel fuel handy. when she comes around take out the pencil and let the manifold vacuum suck the diesel into the engine. the billowing smoke will be terrific. it wont harm your engine.

I had a setup on my old 56 BelAir when I was younger. Windshield washer tank with an electric pump I found in a Chrysler at the junk yard. Filled it with diesel and ran a tube into the air cleaner just above the carb. I could flat bury a 4 lane Hwy with the push of a button.
VERY James Bond. lol

Re: need a laugh? funny story about this morning

A couple years ago I pulled up to a gas station to fill up, it was a cold morning and I wanted my cab to warm up while I filled my tank. This woman jogs over from the other pump and screams at me to shut off my truck before the whole place blows up! She was freaking out! I told her to calm down, that if the "whole place exploded" my insurance would cover it. She started screaming that my "old jalopy" had "sparks shooting out the muffler things!" This was right after I had finished painting it, it looked like a brand new truck and there were no sparks, I don't know where she came up with it being a jalopy! Anyway I played along and ran away as though my life was in danger! She screams that her car was about to explode and told me to hurry and shut off my truck, I told her "no way! You want me to die!" I asked her in desperation to please shut off my truck, that I had three children and a wife, I can't afford to die! Right about then I got a phone call and the gas pump shut off so I answered my phone as I walked back to the pump and the woman starts screaming. "Are you crazy? Now you're answering a cell phone next to a gas pump with your engine running? We're all gonna die!". It was hilarious!

Re: need a laugh? funny story about this morning

I was getting out of my truck at the jobshack on a construction a site when a guy in a prius pulls up and parks beside me. as he's getting out I tell him don't park that next to my truck it's making my truck angry and you wouldn't like my truck when it's angry. he moved his prius a couple spaces over. I guess he didn't know I was joking.

Your truck MAY cause cancer in California. Sounds like its time for electric cut outs

Stories like these make me so thankful that we don't have many environmental nuts in this area. The worse thing I get is people will say that my truck is a pile until they see the shiny powerhouse under the hood.

Re: need a laugh? funny story about this morning

I love when someone with Prius talks about how they are eco friendly and are great for the environment. I guess they didn't get the memo that they are worse for the environment then an H1 Hummer or a Land Rover Discovery with all the batteries and all the pollution that is made during production and when they hit the scrap yard.

It would be interesting to see a breakdown of how our trucks compare. I would bet the result would be surprising.
