Clutch Slave Setup

I have a clutch slave set up on my fire wall for my NV3500. Because of where I ran it the reservoir interfered with the power brake booster. To solve this I had to notch the plastic clip that attaches the reservoir to the slave cylinder and rotate it causing it to be cockeyed. I have seen some slave cylinders that have a small vertical cup style reservoir. Would it be possible to change out the reservoir to that style? I will post pictures of my setup and one simmilar to the one I would like to install. The set up I have on now came off of a 1992 1500 Chevy truck.

Re: Clutch Slave Setup

It's very possible that you could change out the reservoir cup, but I'm not sure if they sell them individually or not. I'm installing a hydraulic clutch in my '69 and I bought a Wilwood master cylinder kit from Jeg's that came with different shaped reservoirs for different mounting applications. It even came with a hose so you could mount the reservoir elsewhere all together.

Here's a link for the kit I bought for my '69.

Thumbs up Re: Clutch Slave Setup

I put a hyd clutch in my `70 C-20. I put a `90 5 spd in it and it required a hyd clutch. I had to make an 1 1/4" offset for my pedal arm and drill the firewall. It works great and after 2800 miles no problems.

Re: Clutch Slave Setup

Beuford, do you have a picture of the otherside of your fire wall, showing the clutch master cylinder setup?

Re: Clutch Slave Setup

i had a '92 Chevy C1500 with a NV3500 and it had the black clutch m/c with the little 'cup' reservoir on it kinda like the small unit (the L shaped one) in the second pic. You may be able to get one from O'Reilly's or something or maybe a junk yard if you want to go that route. I have a Wilwood unit (like what sdailey shows) on my '69 right now that works my McLeod hydraulic t/o bearing and it works great.
