oil pressure question
On a cold start my oil pressure guage reads all the way high and then as it warms up it slowly lowers to normal pressure, i figured its just cause everything is cold and as everything warms up and expands to normal operating temp then the oil pressure drops. But im wondering if this is normal or a sign of a problem, anyone else have the same experiance

cold oil will cause more pressure within the valve train. as the oil warms and looses a bit of it's viscosity, the pressure will drop more into a "normal" range.
sounds normal to me.

Sounds to me like you have a good "lower end" on that engine.

All engines do this. That is if the bottom end is sound. According to GM as long as you have more than 7lbs at idle and it raises 10lbs per 1k rmp then your good to go.

Mine reads 20PSI at idle and 40psi at 60mph, I guess this is good?

if u have a stock gauge like mine.. i run like a full mark next to high pressure or whatever that tick mark is.. then when i gas on it i run little more pressure
