Window scrapers removed to r&r vent windows?
I want to put in new vent windows. I have never pulled them out so I want to know what to remove to make it easiest to r&r them.
I know how they are held in. Just curious about the surrounding stuff.

I did mine before scrapers and I think you'd probably want them removed to make it easier to get it in/out. I followed the FAQ posted on this forum and it went super easy actually. Just put tape on your door inside and out to avoid scratches in the paint.

Here it is.....talks about all the screws you need to remove and also goes into the window regulator replacement. The biggest thing for me in getting it all in/out was leaving the guide/brace in the lower opposite corner loose until everything was in and loosening it/shifting it over to get everything out

Re: Window scrapers removed to r&r vent windows?
You're welcome!
the site search tool is a tricky thing...took me a while to figure it out. I actually did use search to find them. Selected advanced search and typed in vent window. but then the trick was selecting only the FAQ forum and FAQ index tabs. I did that by selecting one then holding control to select the next one. If not you get way too many other bogus responses in the results... I also use this when looking for parts.....type what you're looking for then only select 67-72 classifieds....if too many results then change the search option to only search titles....

Re: Window scrapers removed to r&r vent windows?
I did mine and most definantly had to remove scrapers. Tried to remove the first one with scrapers still in and it really bent them up. I was replacing them anyway so it did not matter, but it is easier to remove once scrapers are out. Good luck
