Cold starting/running problems

Hey all,

Lately I've been having trouble with my truck in the colder weather. It's always coughed and back fired quite a bid driving it in the really cold weather but it would get by.

Lately, I can't even get it started or keep it running in the colder weather. However if it's more than 60 outside or so it seems to start right up and run like a top. It's kind of weird.

I am not sure if it's carburation or electrical. I kind of suspect carburation. It's a stock 4b Rochester carb.

Any ideas on where I should start or some basic checks?

Auto choke. It is closed when cold. It also has stock distributer.

Re: Cold starting/running problems

Sounds like you have to adjust the choke rod or the vacuum break for the choke.
