Steering stops for porterbuilt arms and CPP spindles
Hey I have installed porterbuilt tubular arms on my '67 truck and the tires rub on the shocks when I turn the wheel lock to lock.
I'm running 15" steel wheels and 235 tires and CPP modular 2" drop spindles. Has anyone added a steering stop to their arms.? Or is there supposed to be a steering stop on the CPP spindles.?

Re: Steering stops for porterbuilt arms and CPP spindles
The spindles should have stop arms cast into the rear side of the spindles, my guess is that the Porterbuilt arms my not have the stop plate on them.

Re: Steering stops for porterbuilt arms and CPP spindles
Thank you. You are right. I may try to build my own stops after I get their sway bar (which is custom to their arms, you can't use stock sway bar).

Re: Steering stops for porterbuilt arms and CPP spindles
I also am looking for a solution as I am having the same exact issue. No steering stops. If anyone has details on where to put some good aftermarket steering stops into Porterbuilt lower tubular arms it would be great.
Thank you, M Miller |
