Thumbs down This blazer's been posted, but i'd NEVER

I'd never drop the kind of money these people are for something like this - with BODY LIFT (3 inches!) ... c'mon... look at those bumpers... that's a shame

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1972-...QQcmdZViewItem

Lookin lame IMO, esp when you think about all the work that went into it.

I would think that they would invest the small amount extra to adjust the bumpers. Hopefully who ever buys it will fix it...

It is a pretty truck though...

Re: This blazer's been posted, but i'd NEVER

Let me start with...it looks better than my truck....
Now, I keep going back to where they say COMPLETE FRAME OFF RESTORED...and NO MONEY WAS SPARED...
But the door panels are covered in Wal-Mart carpet, and one is even missing the door handle/window crank.
Add to that the make-shift heater-core delete plate.
Also, the dash is cut for CD player....but it is a "RESTORED" truck?
If they had left out the word 'restored', I would be fine with it.....say 'frame off project' or similar....but not restoration.

But again, it is a FINE truck....I'd drive it!

Sorry guys but you can pick any of these rigs apart at 35+ yrs old. That IMO is one of, if not the sweetest blazers I've seen.

My rear bumper looks the same. Big gap between the body and the bumper. I think it looks bad as well and i will fix it someday, but its not gonna make or brake a nice looking rig. My front bumper is better however it's far from stock.

All I need is paint, and some wider tires and I can kick it's ass

Re: This blazer's been posted, but i'd NEVER

Usually pretty easy to pick e-bay vehicles apart, is it fair? NO
Is it fun? Well, kinda...

Wouldn't pass inspection in this state either.

Other evident issue would be drivability.
8"s of lift without cross over steering with 38's must be rather scary.
Say it with me...'death wobble'

Lots of great work went into this truck but as a 'package', the work should continue to completion.

Show truck or not, if you can't drive it/enjoy it, what's the purpose?

Just M/O.

I wouldn't mind seeing it sitting in my driveway but there's still a lot of work to do to make it a really awesome truck.

I totally agree... Some of the posts I enjoy the most are the ones where we pick apart vehicles. I find these posts to be educational (at times), help figure a vehicles value to potential bidders (at times), and are just fun (most of the time).

Note: I say this as a person that purchased his rig off ebay.

Frame off resto?? Did some cheating, gastank 3/4 painted, rust on top of rear, couple of other spots on the frame that is missing some paint. Would not be a bad buy but not what they want.

Re: This blazer's been posted, but i'd NEVER

I like this truck alot it is close to what I hope to build someday. I know it has been together for awhile. How long I dont know. It was complete 4 yrs ago at the Bloomsburg Jamboree. Which is when the flames were put on it. I agree it needs some upgrades but if bought at the right price those upgrades would be feasable.

Re: This blazer's been posted, but i'd NEVER

I'd loose the rear blocks for some springs, fix the bumpers, and possibly do the crossover steering VT said. Yea, i guess like most of you i wouldnt mind it in my driveway either - but i wouldnt mind having a truck like that that would drive nicely either.

Re: This blazer's been posted, but i'd NEVER

Does it stop? Start? It'll pass here!
It's been a while since I had a Blazer (until the recent Jimmy purchase) but I had body lifts on my last three blazers. And they didn't make a bumper relocationg kit. Maybe they do now. My 02 HD has a three inch body lift and they come with the bumper relocators and the lift lips to hide the gaps on the sides. That's another thing I hated about the body lift on the blazer. But Its an inexpensive way to get a little bigger tire on there, I don't knock it. Especially with the suspension prices for newer vehicles!

Personally body lifts to me are hocky pucks and bumper lowering kits I hate them.
