Cruise control input needed
Like with all older vehicles some days go backwards.
I had fixed all the vacuum leaks and adjustments in and on the cruise control unit ,it was working well and was very useable . Yesterday I was driving it down the interstate and hit the speed advance. Instead of increasing the speed it shut off and now doesn’t work or engage what so ever The fuse is fine . It would appear the multi switch on the blinker stalk has failed Any other thoughts ? |

Re: Cruise control input needed
Did the rod pop off the side of the carburetor?

Re: Cruise control input needed
What year are we talking about? There is multiple things that could cause this, such as stalk, cruise control servo, even the throttle linkage shaft.

Re: Cruise control input needed
My bad, I keep forgetting to put the year of the truck. 1986 gmc 305 v8 the failure occurred when I pushed the accelerator button prior to this the cruise would not hold speed going up an incline. It would lose speed then if I pushed the accelerator just a little it would return to its setting.
When I first fixed all the vacuum leaks It worked Thank you David |
