Just kinda nosin around before I start cleaning and found this at the right forward crossmember. To me, it looks like the rivet wasn't set properly. Just drill it out and bolt it together?
Truck was hit in the right front by unknown po. Not Bad though.

Yeah, that'd be the sway bar bracket. If you like a level ride I'd fix it. Yeah, drilling it out and putting a bolt in it would fix it right up. Now if it was a 4x4, I'd say take it off cause it's worthless.

3/8 bolt.

That's the typical procedure when you replace those brackets, grind and punch rivet out and replace with grade 8 bolt.

I had the same problem with my 71, 1/2 ton. It wasn't hit but the rivet was loose. I drilled it out and replaced with a bolt years ago. Has me wondering if it just wasn't installed right from the factory or if it stretched over time? Interesting to see others having the same issue.

I saw that same kind of condition the other day at work on a late 90's Ford pickup! my guess is that they were installed on a friday afternoon.
