Question CRAGAR S/S Wheels on 71-72? Bolt pattern specs?

Anyone know the bolt pattern specs for a stock 1972 C/10 half ton (5-lug front discs/rear drums)?

Does anyone have any pics of 68-72 with Cragar S/S wheels (15"-17")???

I'm contemplating getting these 17" Cragar S/S's for my C10, but want to make sure I order the right size bolt pattern:

Also considering Cragar's "Street Lock-D" Wheels:

Size: 42.9 KB

Haven't decided which wheels to go with... leaning towards S/S wheels.... any suggestions?

Here's the truck they'll be going on:

Thanks for any info/advice/suggestions.

I want to put the SS's on my truck. Always loved those. My older brother put them on his 77 camaro in the early 80's.

Re: CRAGAR S/S Wheels on 71-72? Bolt pattern specs?

I do not believe you can get those to work. The SS..at least the old school ones were a "unilug" setup that had an offset washer so you could run them on a Ford, Chevy, Mopar....etc. They were 5 on 4.5 or 4.75. Your truck is 5 on 5. They may make an adapter but I'm not a fan of those at all. The other way you could get them to fit is to weld in a Camaro subframe and a Camaro12 bolt posi but that's a lot of work for a set of wheels!!!!

This is why you don't see those wheels on our style trucks!

Check post #30 on the following link...

http://www.67-72chevytrucks.com/vboa...=143835&page=2

And yes they can be bought the correct bolt circle for your truck which is 5" or called 5 on 5 (Meaning 5 lug & 5").

That's not see ten's truck, but I know who's it is. They're 15x8 255/60/15 front, 15x10 275/60/15 rear. I don't know the bs numbers, though.

Yes they come in 5x5 pattern. Both of my trucks in the picture a 5x5.

I just checked Summit and they offer the Cragar SS in 21 different size options, all 5x5 pattern.

Early Classic Enterprises 4.5/6 drop kit.

2.5 spindles and 2 inch front springs. KYB shocks

6 inch rear springs, shock relocators, super track bar, and KYB shocks

235/60-15 BF Goodrich on the front with 7 inch wheels, 275/60-15 BF Goodrich on the rear with 8 inch wheels. I personally don't like my trucks to sit level. I prefer a rake. The ECE kit makes them level, so I add some "tire rake" by staggering the front to rear sizes like that.

Its a sure fire combination that I used on most of the trucks I've built.

Cragars fit fine on my neighbor's truck. They're a timeless design.

If you want classic 5-spoke wheels like Cragar SSs,Torque Thrusts, etc, you should look into swapping to '71+ spindles and rear. No adapters.

Re: CRAGAR S/S Wheels on 71-72? Bolt pattern specs?

For all you guys with lowered trucks running Cragar SS rims I'm hoping you can help me out. I have a 70 stepside with 15x8 Cragar SS all around. I'm looking to lower the truck, probably 2.5/3 to start, and was going to go with 2.5" drop spindles on the front, but have read a lot about issues with rubbing on the lower control arm when running rims with a larger backspace. Have any of you guys used 15x8 Cragar SS rims on the front with 2.5" drop spindles, and did you have any rubbing issues on the LCA? Thanks in advance.

Re: CRAGAR S/S Wheels on 71-72? Bolt pattern specs?

Hey guys, not sure how on-topic this is, but I ran into a conundrum with bolt patterns when I put a 9" ford rear in a truck. I wanted to stick with the Chevy 5 lug pattern to stay sneaky, and stumbled across these guys at a swapmeet. I talked to them for a bit about these redrill conversion kits. They can do quite a few variations from this to that as far as bolt patterns and wheels go. Really cool guys.
If you found the right set of Cragar SS wheels, you could go this route even if they were ford car rims.

if you do have front drum pattern changed and redrilled be sure to replace wheel bearings/races - I found out about this the hard way with a '56 GMC that I had, and wish I still owned..

Re: CRAGAR S/S Wheels on 71-72? Bolt pattern specs?

Running a 15" wheel with a drop spindle is possible but does run the risk of rubbing the rim the way it is designed. I am running 2.5" drop spindles with a 16" wheel but had to add a wheel spacer to get it away from the rim.
