1963 one piece side windows
Today I installed one piece power side windows in my 63. They where very easy to install and came with great instructions. I ordered them with a blue tint to match the exterior of the truck. I really like the look without the vent window.

Re: 1963 one piece side windows
I so want to do that to my 64 short stepper but everyone I asked about doing if wanted $1000.00 per door.
I LOVE that look with a big back window.

Re: 1963 one piece side windows
The kit is from Classic Truck Glass and the kit was $725 for the power window option. It took about three hours to complete the install and was pretty simple.

Re: 1963 one piece side windows
Do they go up and down good? Do they go all they way down? Did you havr to do any door modifications? Sorry for all the questions.

Re: 1963 one piece side windows
They go up and down great. There is a small corner of the window that sticks about 1/4" above the window frame. I could have lowered the mounting holes but I was concerned that the glass may get below the window felts and cause problems down the road. The install did not require any door modifications.

Re: 1963 one piece side windows
How well has this set up held up? I really like this idea. Is the wind noise any better? Does the window tend to rattle or bind?

Re: 1963 one piece side windows
Im torn with this look.. I have seen people do the same on classic VW bugs too. I like the simple look of the single window, but I think I would miss the vent window for some AC.
Your install came out great!

Re: 1963 one piece side windows
Does anyone have anything to add to this thread. Seems like there is some interest on how well this kit has held up. CHIZZLER

See this thread...http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=761593
I'm happy to answer any questions I can. I just figure why have two threads on the same subject. |
