NOS Sport Mirror Screw sets

Seven sets of sport mirror screws for sale. Paypal preferred. Four sets may already be called for by the following, PMs sent:

1rippen6
my71gmc
cst204x4
randy.powell

Six sets of six screws are $29 each with shipping. All Sold

One set of six screws is $20 with shipping. I singled these out, because either they weren't quite as bright or the edge around the bottom of the heads weren't quite as narrow. These are pictured in the box, 3rd image. Probably sold.

Note: Appears to me that you need to ream out your NOS reinforcement bracket (or even repro.) some to get these to bite. I tried them on my NOS reinforcement bracket and it wouldn't take. That said they fit perfectly into the mirror, and any smaller would be incorrect. That and the part number is correct. If anyone knows better, then please chime in.

Other than the four posters mentioned, first in line get them.

FWIW - the screws in a NOS set of mirrors here have tapered, self tapping threads, probably why you were seeing these screws bite into the NOS backing plates.

What's the part # for those screws?

These are the same as what I've got: http://www.ebay.com/itm/NOS-66-67-68...-/191123029685

Here's the parts wiki: http://www.gmpartswiki.com/getpage?pageid=22762

If you look online for repro., you'll find both types.

Works for me. I can see where the self-tapping are the easier route. I've now seen two kits that have them.

Me, I'm going to use these, and carefully ream out the reinforcements. The bottoms are tapered. They're real pretty, and from what I see on the web are correct. Incidentally, these are grade 8.

Re: NOS Sport Mirror Screw sets

I am good with taking 6. I am fairly certain my back plates have something like a nut on them, and these will work great. The NOS plates don't look like what I have in my Jimmy, and I assume mine are original?? Either way, I will take them.

Packed and ready to go, thank you. Curious what your plates look like. Nothing comes up in the parts book for GMC at the moment for the screws, reinforcements or gaskets. Can't imagine the sport mirror set up for GMC differs from Chevy.

Re: NOS Sport Mirror Screw sets

Well look at that. Those come off the same truck? I'll take a stab at this. The top one is an original reinforcement, the bottom is a later version. I've got about 10 possible scenarios in my head right now. Another mystery.

Nice idea to weld the nuts on.. I will check and see if he is interested. Do you have a price for one, and both?

You happy with the welds and positioning? From this angle, looks real good. If so, I'm ready.

Re: NOS Sport Mirror Screw sets

For those that missed out on these, I believe the four machine screws on the bottom of a 67-71 door panel are the same, or at least a good alternative.
