drop or bigger sidewall, pics attatched

I love these wheels but the truck looks terrible with low profile tires and stock truck height. The tires are Nitto size 235/45/17 up front and the rear is 275/40/18.
The truck has a leaf spring conversion in the rear. I can't decide if I should drop it to loose the fenderwell gap, or just get a taller tire like a 60 series. Maybe I should try out photoshop and look at the difference. Any suggestions on tire size or drop?

You need the drivetrain in to get the proper look, I would go at least 4/6 !

if your gonna keep those wheels ,id think it would look much better lowered .

but i still think it should have more meat around the wheels to fill the wheel wells

is the truck in black primer? or is that a flat looking finish paint

im considering spraying my 67 satin black or something i can do at home just to get a protective layer over the old faded blue paint that doest really turn any heads anymore , being the truck will be driven pretty often and NOT kept in a garage do to lack of space.

i think lower like 2/4 and the bigger sidewalls of a 60series would make it less ricey

You already have good tires. I say you do a 3/5 drop. You will love the way it looks. By the way, nice truck.

I would drop it and get bigger tires more sidewall I do not like the rubberband look of the tires.

The tires are too short for a truck IMO. They would work well on a TransAm or Mustang but @ <26" tall there's not enough meat even if you dropped it alot.

A 4/6 drop is easy to live w/daily. Try about 27" tall on the tires (which is about equal to the stock diameter BTW). 255/50 in front & 275/50 out back or 275/60 if you prefer more of a rake.

I think a 28-29" tall tire (I prefer 29") and a drop would look just right. You'll have to wait till the drivetrain is installed before you really know how much drop you need.

My truck has a 29" tall tire in the back, but on 15's so it looks bigger than it would on 17's.

Thanks for all the tips guys. I am in south Scottsdale Az. It is an Az truck, the body is near mint. The PO had it dolled up as a show truck but it got stolen. After he got it back, he fixed the damage but he lost interest. When I gt it the body was repaired, but not painted so it was several colors. I put a coat of black primer on to see how I liked it.

I am actually gonna be pulling the bed and body so I can redo all the body mounts, fuel/brake lines, install Painless wiring harness and get my fuel tank done without that stuff in the way. I want to do the drop while it is apart, that is why I was asking what you all think for a drop. I will put the drivetrain in after it is all redone.
I plan to wear those tire out before getting new ones, but I need to plan my drop for the tires I get later.
