Re: Replacing Column Mounted 3 Speed
I would imagine you'd need to replace your column with a shifterless column, then cut the hole in the appropriate spot in the floor, and mount the shifter.
My truck had the manual 3 shifter still hanging on the column, with some OEM car auto shifter mounted on the floor when I bought it...? lol |

Re: Replacing Column Mounted 3 Speed
I have a few times. It is the easiest way to cure a worn out column shifter.
Hurst makes several different shifters that will work. I like the Mastershift that Hurst makes, it runs around $200. You need a shifter with a handle around 16" tall that is curved to clear a bench seat, so that leaves a lot of shifters out. You will probably get some noise from the shifter linkage as it vibrates while driving and will have adapt a switch to the shifter for backup lights. |
