Interior A/C box colors
The interior A/C pieces (diverter box, floor defroster vent box, ect.)for my truck are pretty faded and old looking. I want to paint them to give them a new and factory look. But I haven't had any luck finding a paint that's close to the original color, has anybody painted yours and what color did you use?

Don't know about "factory" color, but satin black in a rattle can worked for me.

I thought about flat black, but I noticed, especially the diverter box, had a greenish cast to it. I went to a paint store and found a simular color but it was way too light, I asked the guy working if he could mix some, taking this color and darkening it about 20 shades, but I guess he was too lazy, said he couldn't, I know the owner, but he's hard to catch sometimes, I'm hoping someone may have found an exact match for them, of maybe eastwood had a simular color to use.

Mine has that greenish cast to it also, but it's about to get changed to satin black because that green is fugly! The black looks much better IMHO. The geeky green is molded into the plastic. I used to work for a plastics molding company, and any polluted or left-over colored plastic beads could be mixed with the black ones, and in most cases the black would over-power the other colors, but sometimes there would be a hint of another color show through. I have just always thought that is why these truck boxes sometimes have that off-color. I don't think you're going to get the same thing using paint, and personally, I don't want that color anyway, that's why mine are going to black. But that's me and my truck, you do whatever blows your skirt up, it's your truck.
