check out this little beast -

It looks like it's based on a pickup frame - ? I'm guessing it's a 67 or 68 - does anybody know?

Kind of similar to the van in the cheech and chong movie. There is on like that for sale at a local car lot, but I think it is longer. I'll have to go and check it out.

It is most likely 73 - up judging by the bumper, but the 67-68's looked the same basically.

Here's some more. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=295139

Truck chassis underneath. One of the board members had one for sale a couple of years ago. He sent me pictures of the underside and had the same coil spring rear suspension. Same front suspension. I assumed it was just a short wheel base frame.

I looked at one of these a couple days ago and I'm going back on Sunday with a Tape measure. They look shorter than a shortbed and I think I read here somewhere they sit on a 2wd blazer frame.

Here is a link I posted on the blazer forum. Anyone know for sure?

It`s a P-series frame, all the same C/10 components. The same body was used until the`90s.But,they dropped the 10-series before that.I really want to find one and use it.It`s hard to find them without the sides cut for windows.

Yep, they're called "step vans." Back in the 70's a friend of mine wanted to buy one to convert to a camping vehicle. Now, they're pretty common for food vendors around here.

Nate,

Your right! These Vans do make sweet little cruisers.

Here's a link I found on tricked out Bread Vans, Ice Cream Trucks, Divcos and Step Vans

Curser down towards the bottom to get to the Vans

I could not figure out how to break the link up to show only the Vans, so enjoy the other kewl rides.

That one wasn't for sale - it looked as if it had broken down and someone left it there.

Yes the "P" series step vans are on a normal truck chassis, although I can not confirm if the short one are on a 2WD blazer chassis.

Special-K..... here's a short one locally (seattle) for sale.. probably a bit far away for you.

Yeah, about as far away as that gold camper you had that I wanted soooo baaaad!

Here`s a dealer brochure of the little steeper...van:

There`s a laundry service out of Baltimore called Lord Baltimore Cleaners.Less than 10 years ago I was working a good 15 miles from the city and one of these shoties came to the house.By the hubcaps it was a`75 or earlier.I talked to the guy and he had been driving it since new and wouldn`t let them replace it.I thought that was kinda neat.

I think 69 is when they went to that body style. I worked on a 68 P/30 at work and looked NOTHING like that.
