Re: This part fell off my truck, tips for reattaching?!

First i would ask how in the heck did it fall off. Looks like somebody cut the door jamb from another truck and attached it to your truck.
Get us a picture of where it was attached last. But spot welding would the best bet.

Re: This part fell off my truck, tips for reattaching?!

Andrew,
who was the guy that was doing the rivets? I think he was from Waverly Nebraska, had an awesome product and claimed they would be cheaper than what most sold them for. His board name is on the tip of my tongue.
Something bones or boneyard? Did we ever get a list of members that went to the midwest meet?

Jeff

Re: This part fell off my truck, tips for reattaching?!

Depends on how correct you want it. I just got some short aluminum pop rivets and used a flat file to make the head a hex shape, looks pretty close to me.

Re: This part fell off my truck, tips for reattaching?!

How correct is not really the issue, the originals were stainless and not aluminum. Here in KS if you get the wrong DMV guy on the wrong day and he doesn't like the look of your rivets you WILL have big trouble. The guy that makes them makes them out of stainless and the look just like the originals.

Just my 2 cents

Jeff

Jeff's right, this guy was pretty much dead on. was a great looking rivet and at that point he said he hadnt quite perfected it.

Here in Texas they don't even look at the vehicle, they just want their money. The only thing I have seen them bust people's balls about is lying on the sales price to pay less sales tax. They did that crap to me when I applied to change the title on my Z28 from my dad's name to mine. They said I had to pay presumptive value, but we decided to "gift" it so I paid $10.

Top of the left front frame rail. Kind of between the steering box and the control arm.

I know, thats why i got these numbers off my old rusted out cab.... the new cab is nearly rust free and came from a guy who buys these truck strictly to part. and didnt get a title, so if i swap the numbers to the new cab ill have a title, that matches the plate that will be on the new cab, and my frame. although its an out of state title so when im ready to get it registered in ks, ill have to have a dmv guy come out and check the numbers and verify with the title.
