You might want to talk to these guys. They say they are going to have a chevycummins.com open soon. They may have kits for the chevy.

saw one in person and naturally I forgot to get the important pictures. I talked to the guy at length and it was a lot of work.
changed/modified. steering link, front crossmember. tranny crossmember, cut out entire rad support for intercooler.
front x-member was nearly all removed and built differently to clear pan. Fine workmanship. as you can see it was also stretched a little.
It was a -5 speed and hauled a$$ when he left for it's size. DAVE

I just bought a 86' Crewcab, and would like to convert it to diesel. (it currently has a built up 396) Anybody know how hard it would be to put in a Duramax and Allison in it? Anybody done it?

It'd be about twice as hard i'd imagine. The duramax is alot bigger than the cummins in engine size. It also is completely computer managed meaning lots of wires and computers. Even the trans has it's own comp. A 12 valve cummins only has one comp that doesn't do much. Most everything is mechanically operated. Not to mention their tough as nails, easy to find, and can be made to run really good with a little injection pump manipulateing.
