S-10 door rubber review time
I know several of you replaced your door seals with s-10 rubbers. Do you still like them? Have they flattened out so your doors close easily yet? Would you still recomend them?
I'm ready to do this, and just want an update on information.

Re: S-10 door rubber review time
No regrets at all. They seal great and are a snap (literally) to install

Re: S-10 door rubber review time
Mine have been on about 2 weeks and I'm still slamming the sh!t out of the doors. Once I get my truck painted, which will be a while, I might put the original style back on if it has not gotting to my liking. But they do seal up very well. JMO

Re: S-10 door rubber review time
I still have to shut mine FIRMLY, but I really like the NO-GLUE aspect of it. I remember putting on new glue-on ones before and had to slam those too, so....

Re: S-10 door rubber review time
I've got them installed and hope to hell they loosen up! Its been about a month, and so far I've got to 1) shut by hand to the first click then 2) push with my hip and most my fat a#% weight to get the second click. I've adjusted the latch and all...
No corners.. one pcs

These are the only pictures I have. My truck has left me
GMC Pauls list the ones that you need. They list them as push on weatherstripping for 67-72 Chevy pickups. http://www.gmcpauls.com/Pickup.htm

Re: S-10 door rubber review time
Mine have been installed since late September, still require a firm slam, but I'm happy with them.

Re: S-10 door rubber review time
Just a though here: Anyone remember the rear hatch latch on the 3rd gen Camaros (maybe 4th too)? It would latch with one click then "suck in" electrically so you didn't have to slam it. Seems like something like that would work very well here.
Does anyone know of any other cars that use this type of latch? I'd like to try it on my '61 Last edited by Frizzle Fry; 02-06-2006 at 12:24 PM. |

Re: S-10 door rubber review time
Buick, Olds, Caddilac had truck feature like this as well, but I don't know that trunk latches have the same durablity as door latches. May be a saftey issue.

Re: S-10 door rubber review time
Anyone here tried silicone spray on the seals to loosen them up ?
I had a hard time getting my doors to close nice using 67-72 seals. With the silicone spray they doors now close nice and easy.

Re: S-10 door rubber review time
How do these s-10 gaskets attach to the door? Do you drill holes for plastic pegs to snap into? If no glue is used then how is the gaskets held in place?
