Looking for feedback on hardtop window rubber
I bought a single wall top to swap out with my double wall top (which was saggin') I removed the windows to paint and when I go to re-install the OEM rubber, the stuff is brittle and hard. So hard, in fact that it broke some of the fiberglass off of the original top. Which I am repairing now.
Im thinking about going with new rubber for the windows, so I'm looking for feedback. I had the crap that you buy from LMC. Very cheap from my experience. In fact, I'm worried if it would even keep the window in place. Who have you guys used for window rubber? Has anyone tried Steele rubber? They are right here locally.

Re: Looking for feedback on hardtop window rubber
Fwiw I have but haven't installed the Steele rubber for a single wall top. Seems good quality. I'd recommend trying that and if good ditching the original rubber. I purchased mine at the Truck Shop in Orange, CA when I was visiting Orange County.

Thanks for the feedback. Good to know the Steele Rubber is looking good. Lucky to have them right here in town. (no shipping!)

Re: Looking for feedback on hardtop window rubber
You bet. To me it's surprising that a manufacturer would do a run of gaskets for single wall tops - there weren't many made to begin with being available for part of the 72 model year and only (seemingly) installed at Flint.

Re: Looking for feedback on hardtop window rubber
I Have all new rubber in mine. Got it all from Wes at classic heartbeat in Wash state. If you saw my top, you would be impressed.

Re: Looking for feedback on hardtop window rubber
Also ... good info. I knew there was a company on the west coast that had it available. Couldn't think of who it was.
