T400 leaking at speedo gear housing
Is there a O ring or gasket , Looks simple enough to remove ?

Yes there is a o-ring
And it is very easy to fix

Easy to replace, just remove the clamp, pull the spedo gear out, and install new 'O' ring.

Don't know if this appies to the TH400, but my 1969 TH350 had an older style without an o-ring. A trans shop sold me the new style with o-ring for prox $5. it hasn't leaked since.

Paid $1200; sold for $1500 a few years later. Just a hint at the appreciation that was coming. Retired as a factory automation products salesman. "Some" have 2 seals. The O-ring is obvious. The other seal is not.
I'd take the "bullet" with you to a tranny shop and ask them what you need. |
