66 Pro Street Build (Domeringer)
Hi All, Have been lurking this great forum for a while. I'll start by introducing myself... My name is Gary and I live in Connecticut. Had a shop that specialized in drag bike chassis and go fast work... decided it was time to close down and have some fun with other things. Bought this truck a while back and drove it for a year... but the drag racing in my blood took over again. I'm going to pretty much scratch build the whole setup, any questions or advise will be greatly appreciated.
The truck was purchased tricked out old school and had this sticker on the back window... so that's what we'll call it! Think it will live up to it's new name Here's some pics of the truck the way I bought it. 350 (010 block) with an M20 tranny, 2 inch drop spindles, 3" drop springs up front, 4" drop springs in the rear, disc brake conversion up front. Had some issues but all in all very cool truck and had a blast cruising with it. Here's some pics of where we are at this week. Will try to do my best at giving a weekly update. No time today but will post up the plan tomorrow |

Re: 66 Pro Street Build (Domeringer)
Very Cool Truck. You have the exact lowering setup that I plan to run. So now I know what it will look like. Your engine looks almost spot on to what mine did.

Re: 66 Pro Street Build (Domeringer)
Hi Bret, I liked the stance of the truck with that setup and glad you were able to get a preview. When I get this current project finished I will use the parts from this one to build another almost the same way. The cross member was hacked pretty bad on this one and trailing arms were shot. Will post some pics later to show what not to do.

Hi Neatbeard Thanks had mixed feeling about tearing it down for the project. Had a look at your facebook page, great work! Also read your build story and that's just plain cool that you were able to find the original. Good luck with your future enhancements!

Re: 66 Pro Street Build (Domeringer)
SWEET!! 1000hp
Im in for this one, are you going to make your own rear wheel tubs or use the factory style but just widen them?? I used 67-72 style tubs an widened mine like 4.75" I will be putting a 29x15x15 on the back, just got to get the right backspacing and offset for the rims to fit right

Re: 66 Pro Street Build (Domeringer)
if I remember right the 29x15x15 will fit, just have to have the right offset and backspacing! my tubs are 16in. from the inner bedside, so there maybe an inch or so! when I cut my steel floor out it pretty much goes straight up from the frame! there's a thread in the sub section 'rocktonka' is the member, check out what he has done! it shows that that's pretty much the biggest tire you can go with without cutting the frame!

Hi all, Been a while since I posted last and figured it was time for an update and some pics. Left off posting that we were going to remove the cab... done! Have spent a lot of time building a jig for this project... here's progress so far. Should start some frame cutting and welding this weekend.
