Need fuse help please!
I have a car that has a blown fuse. I replaced the fuse and it blows right away again. How do I go about fixing this problem and testing whatever I fix (do I have to buy a bulk pack of fuses and keep sticking them in until I find the right fix?)

For starters, which fuse is it...What's it handling.
If you don't have it a simple contiuity light tester will be very useful in tracing out the trub.

It powers my dash light, my tailights (when you're driving, my brake lights work) and my healight motors(i have pop up and down headlights. I also have a continuity tester and a digital meter as well.

My first guess would be to unplug the headlight motors and see if it still blows. If fuse no longer blows, truble is somewhere in the motor or wires for it.
That's the quickie route. other than that I would look for a shorted wire in the other circuits. Have you done anything recently under dash, in tail light areas, retc that may have caused the problem to come to a head now?

installed a stereo lately? (newer models will dim the LCD display when you tun on the headlights)
A shorted out bulb in the marker lights could be another easily overlooked item. |
