67-72 Trucks at the Rod Run on the strip

Got back last night with a bunch of pics. Thought I would share. Talked to a lot of the owners and met some great folks. Enjoy.

Some more. Lots of SWB trucks there, I was not being biased.

I have several more. The ochre truck was a Super with a Big Block, all factory and pretty much flawless. I loved it.

Re: 67-72 Trucks at the Rod Run on the strip

Was this the show that was in Pigeon Forge this past weekend?
I was up there Friday and saw so many sweet rides that my son got tired of me saying "Oh man, look at that one!".
I can't wait to get my house built up there.

Friend of mine was there and he commented on how many trucks he noticed there this year. He's not a truck guy either. Thanks for posting the pics.

Yeah, it was Pigeon Forge but not the show. These were parked all up and down the parkway. We never see all of the cars and trucks and each year we add a day to our trip. My favorite gathering of the fall. I think there were a few less vehicles but the quality was great.

Re: 67-72 Trucks at the Rod Run on the strip

Thanks for sharing these pics. I always try to make it to the rod run each year and this year I didn't get to because of work. This way I can still see what I went to look at anyway!

I went with my wife this year too. Love this show. I hope to take my truck next year, and unlike a lot of them there, I will DRIVE mine.

Re: 67-72 Trucks at the Rod Run on the strip

I've always been drawn to the patina trucks and trucks with the old school door advertisement. I'm not really a "Rat Rod" guy; but I get bored at car shows seeing the same swb trucks done in the same style over and over again. You can go to 5 different car shows, and find 5 different trucks done exactly the same way. While I can admire the work that was done to these trucks, it's predictable and a little played out IMHO.
