Trans cooler recommendations

I bought a 27ft travel trailer and will towing it with my 87 3/4 ton.

I want to put a trans cooler on. Any recommendations or lessons learned. Is there a better cooler than others? Thx

Re: Trans cooler recommendations

I'm fond of a stacked plate design over a tube and fin, but just buy the biggest one that will fit.

Re: Trans cooler recommendations

I was looking at the stacked vs finned and came across a pan cooler for a TH400 trans which I have.

Anybody ever use or have any experience with these? Hopefully the link will work.

Re: Trans cooler recommendations

I was just thinking that it won't work when stuck in traffic while the others mounted in front of the radiator will have the engine fan.

Re: Trans cooler recommendations

The pan "may" work, but I'd go with the front mount.
Personally I got a good size (not the biggest, but far from the smallest) tube and fin. I also run the radiator cooler with the aftermarket, sometimes the extra heat is needed.

I think the cooler I have is Hayden. Not sure though. Whatever I was able to pick up locally. Just went to look, got the box. 2nd largest, for motorhome use and 5th wheel towing over 10,000lb.

I'm kinda like duct tape- no real purpose, but handy to have around.
