Would you sell or trade..... w/pics

Hello everyone! I love my truck to death, and wouldn't sell it, regardless of price. I noticed a lot of people here buy and sell, or keep for many reasons. I'd like to see what you have and the stories behind the reasons to keep or sell. I'll start.

[IMG][/IMG]

[IMG][/IMG]

This is my 69 SWB C10. The second pic is the 71 rust free cab i'm going to swap on. It reminds me of a 72 SWB GMC that my dad had, and I loved it. I always told myself if i had a chance to purchase a similar vehicle, I would. I've already had offers for 54 bel airs, 73-87 chevy pickups, and some other random vehicles. Not a chance!

Re: Would you sell or trade..... w/pics

my grampa bought me this truck a few years ago as my first vehicle. i could never bring myself to sell it, i built just about everything on it (minus a bit of body work) big block that i built, th400-205 swap, underbed tank, rewire, lift, steering, brakes, repainted grille and other misc stuff, redone interior (as much as i can afford) had the exhaust apart a half dozen times between transmissions and engine swaps after the pain this pig has put me through i will NEVER get another chevy, but i will never get rid of it either!

Re: Would you sell or trade..... w/pics

I've tried many times over the past ten years to sell my truck, but each time I get it all cleaned up and the little fixits done, I chicken out and never list it. A little Toyota truck would be a lot more practical, but I just gotta have this old beast. I'm redoing the bed wood now, (in case I want to sell it!) But I know I'll probably never get rid of it. These trucks are like fungus - they grow on you.

My truck originally a 69 gmc, now converted to a 72 chevy. My dad bought it for me as a first truck when I was 11, started restoring when I was 17, now I'm 19 and nearing the end of a frame off resto. I would never sell my truck

Re: Would you sell or trade..... w/pics

First truck I can remember my dad having was a 1969, black, lwb, straight six, no frills. My dad was diagnosed with cancer and being away in the military for the past 19 years, I feel like I have lost touch with my family. I bought the truck as a reminder of who I am and where I came from. It's just an old long bed farm truck. I put the period correct plates on it and drive it every chance I get. It's no show truck nor is it my daily driver. It's just.....my truck.

My wife would love it if I could sell it...I have been trying but haven't had many nibbles...

I like it because it is unusual and different, yet not something everyone wants.

I have a '69 Chevy LWB with a 396BB that I am finishing up over the next couple of months...
It's not original and there are some cosmetic issues that I need to work out, but I do like it...

The Blue '69 will be a fun truck...and is the one she wants to keep.

Re: Would you sell or trade..... w/pics

I'd sell mine or trade it. I no longer enjoy the hobby these days. This truck has been a good truck for 12yr's. It's my daily driver and my only vehicle but I'm no longer doing the proper up keep to her. She gets serviced well but starting to look worn. I don't what to get another vehicle because I would hate to see her rot to the ground in the back yard. I love older vehicles but I was in an accident and can get around to good now days so it's unfair to the truck for me to let her decay like it is. If it never leaves O well Maybe the spark will come back plus my 3yr old Loves it and never wants to take moms car.

We got our truck from my wifes Grandpa and he bought it new in late 66. So I will say that no we will never sell our truck. It wouldn't be selling a truck it would be selling her childhood memories.

Its really interesting to see the different reasons you all have to keep or sell/trade. I love the new trucks, but I know that I could build one of these for less than 40k with an LS swap and comfortable seats so I figure, why bother with anything new? I also think the new trucks are WAY too big! Compact trucks are now the size of our 67-72s!

I like that they're (mostly) easy work on, and have a minimum of wires/electronic crap. Easy to pull them apart down to the frame... like a big, rolling erector set. Door panels held on with screws instead of puzzle/break/snap/oh-hell clippy things, heater cores that can be removed without taking the dash off, and when you need to work on the engine, you don't need to be a seven-fingered, double-jointed monkey.

I keep mine because I am bound and determined to enjoy it as I start to get older. I have a lot of time and money into it and want to make it a really nice truck to own and enjoy. This is a old picture. I over 13 years invested in it.

Re: Would you sell or trade..... w/pics

I bought this truck when I was 15, now 35, and I will never sell it. I have been offered several times. Hell, just 2 nights ago a man approached me and asked if I would take 50K for mine. I turned him down on the offer. He said good bc he really didn't have it. But I didn't even think that he just offer me twice what my truck was worth. It will go to my oldest boy. And believe me, if he sells it, it had better be after I am in the ground. And I will still roll over if that happens. Just something about my first vehicle, rebuilt the engine as a teen with my father, done a full frame up in my own two car garage that makes it too sentimental to me.

I'm just about to the point of frustration that if I ever get it finished it's going up for sale. Been fighting a leak on my brand new Vintage Air system and it's driving me nuts. I never drive it, it just sits in the garage. Been thinking real hard about getting a bike again.

Yeah, probably stupid on my part, but I just couldn't go through my garage again without getting withdraws. Plus, I have a younger brother that is a green beret and he has threatened me that if I ever get rid of it, he will beat my @$$. He's younger, but a lot bigger than I am. And a bit crazy.

If i was offered the right price I'd think about it but it would take some serious cash. Wouldn't really plan on selling it by listing it but if someone made a to good to turn down offer I'd take and and find another project

Re: Would you sell or trade..... w/pics

I have always loved these trucks and the one I have now is my 5th. I had a 67 that I had just finished a frame up restoration on. Big back window, factory a/c, PS etc. I was offered $26k for it and told the guy he wasn't even close to buying it. Two weeks later it was stolen and I haven't seen it since. That was in 1998

Re: Would you sell or trade..... w/pics

For those of you that don't mind selling or trading, is the thrill more in the build, or the drive? I guess I'm the kind of person, if I want something else, I'll just buy that too. No need for me to sell off one to get another, and I'm not made of money! I will eventually have a cobra kit car, and a model A 5-window. Still loving the stories with these trucks you all have!
