Look on the glove box door for Option 551 Gold and Ivory paint! Only way to tell. This paint was available in all pickups, vans and El Caminos too.

Re: 50th anniversary trucks

I don't know the numbers on shortbeds but Longhorn Man might. They are the rarest of the breed in this area. I really believe that the 50th Anniversary option was fairly common, at least in the NW, since I see so many of them. I have never, personally, seen a 50th short fleet and only one 50th short stepside but I own three 50th trucks...and know of several lwb trucks in this area.

As shown by Bob,the interiors are unique,if it`s still there.Anything but a long fleetside is seldom seen.It would definately be more desirable for being a 50th and,in my mind, worth more.

Re: 50th anniversary trucks

I have one also.
Look for the 2-tone gold/white interior,with 2-ton seat.Either buddy buckets or bench.gold carpet,darker gold dash pad.White door panels.
Mines also a CST.Don't know if all are CST's though.
You can see most of it here---

Re: 50th anniversary trucks

There was a longhorn 50th for sale in this area not too long ago, and it looked to be in good shape, but the guy was asking 10 grand for it. Didn't look too hard at it, I have too many now.

my dad has a 68 c20 camper special, original 396 4 speed, with the ivory and gold paint. i'll get some pics of it. i always liked that gold and white paint scheme, didn't realize it was 50th anniversary. my dad will think thats neat.

In 1968 there is no difference between those two...if they typed off-white on the glove box door it was the same color as ivory. There was only white and ivory in the 1968 paint codes...no "off-white" so if you have a glove box door that says "off-white" you have a "rare" door! I have four of those doors and will check them when I get home to see if I have a "rare" door too. If so I am listing it on eBay!
