What do you think of this cab?
I've been looking for a cab better than mine, and I found one on ebay, but I wish the person posted more pics. I emailed him for more, but he hasn't got back to me yet. What do you think it is worth? These are hard to come by in the northeast.

Re: What do you think of this cab?
I cant say that I would pay more than $500 for cab without doors. The pics dont really show the whole cab.
I lucked out this summer and scored a pretty much rust-free cab (for the midwest) with one good door for $150 . It needs rockers and 1 cab corner but the floor is nearly perfect. There was a pretty nice cab for sale around here this spring for $450 .I wish I had picked it up . All of the body work was complete, It was already in primer and ready for paint.

Re: What do you think of this cab?
I paid less than his buy it now price for a rust free AC high hump cab with all interior, doors and power brake booster. It was a California cab in central PA.
On the other hand, you would easily have that in a cab that you had someone replace rockers, corners and supports in. Its six of one and one half dozen of another. You have to ask yourself if you want rust free original or repaired rust free. Jason Last edited by jay_shy; 12-14-2007 at 05:52 PM. |

Re: What do you think of this cab?
if you are considering that kind of money for just a cab, come to az, buy a long bed, pratically rust free cab/doors and drive it back, take what you need and part the rest. You can get a decent running long bed for 1500 to 2K.

Re: What do you think of this cab?
I think you can buy one for under $500 that is about that nice. The area around the drivers side vent looks to be surface rust but we all know there is usually more than you can see.I would definitely want to see more pics even if the price was right unless I could actually go look for myself. If you have to have it shipped it will cost you big bucks. You certainly don't want to ship one that is as bad as what you have.

Re: What do you think of this cab?
At the price of fuel nowdays i dont think this guys price is too far out of line.
IF the rest is as nice as what you see. You can wrap up a few hundred dollars in patch panels. Then the work involved. I have done it. Plus my time is worth lots of $. I gave $800 for my last California cab and doors. And i got it local(50 miles from me). And i am tickled pink. LOCATION,LOCATION,LOCATION. However if the guy wont send more pics then move on to the next one.

Re: What do you think of this cab?
I agree, not a lot of detailed pics and you could probably find one more local

Re: What do you think of this cab?
thanks for the replies guys. I'm not really concerned about having original sheet metal and any that does have to be replaced, I'm going to do myself. I'm just looking for something better than mine to start off with, possibly something that needs little.
I actually have two cabs right now. One cab is pretty good except all cab mounts, outriggers, cab corners, and front pillars need to be replaced. Everything else is pretty darn good except one area in the floor. The other one has good cab supports and outriggers, but it is FULL of bondo everywhere and the area around the drip rails need work. Parts of the firewall are bad as well as rockers and cab corners and multiple floor areas. If I use one of these cabs, it's gonna be the first one. I think that is the right decision... |

Re: What do you think of this cab?
I would sell you a whole running truck for not much more than he is wanting for his buy it now... And thats got doors hood, fenders and all... I would keep your eye out for a whole truck in your area and rip it apart.
