RARE 1st GEN BLAZER WINCH on CL

Anyone ever heard of this

http://dallas.craigslist.org/pts/663834122.html

It must be nice if they are asking 2500 just for the winch.

Re: RARE 1st GEN BLAZER WINCH on CL

Hickey made accessories for Chevy trucks that were often times dealer installed. I believe you could get a brochure from the dealers and someone has posted a picture of a Hickey brochure here in the past. My Blazer has Hickey side tanks. I believe they also made grill guards, etc.

One of the 4wd magazines published an article on the 69 or 70 Hickey off-road race truck that ran Baja. The current owner has cleaned it up but left it in the original condition.

I remember reading an article awhile back on your truck. Very nice. You should start a thread on it with lots of detailed inside and out pics along with specs. I'm sure everyone would enjoy it. How cool would it be to have a Blazer built to match!!!

That's the one I was talking about. I love the way you keep the truck the way it was during it's racing days. Are you going to make it to the Northwest get together Wes at Classicheartbeat.com is sponsoring down in Olympia?

Re: RARE 1st GEN BLAZER WINCH on CL

I sent a response.I said I`d give him $500 w/o the switch,asked if it works,asked,"Weren`t these designed for all 67-72 K-models,and a,"BTW,it`s Hickey,not Hickory."
What did he do,knock off $2,500 on the Blazer price since the guy didn`t want the "rare" winch?I`d tell the buyer to buy it all or walk.Or.at least let him pay to where he didn`t need $2,500 for the winch.

Ooooh,chromed women......

That truck is a museum piece (that doesn`t need to sit in one).
About these winches.Desert Dynamics offered a side-spool winch, too.I wonder if it was different or just re-pakaged Hickey.
