Steering column to floor sponge seal material
I am looking to create my own Steering column to floor sponge seal because the one's I have found in the catalogs don't fit the size of hole I have in my fire wall. Does anyone know of a material that I can use that is similar that I can use to create my own?

It resembles the close celluose foam material we use in Light Rail in some applications for gaskets on roof top components. I think the stuff in the link will work since it's oil resistant, black, non-absorbant, reasonably priced and readily available - plus a 12 inch square piece should be more than enough for a couple of shots at it. If the thickness is an issue it comes in thinner dimensions too. Let us know what you come up with... Good Luck! rg Last edited by robber grin; 08-30-2013 at 08:19 AM. Reason: wrong link |

Re: Steering column to floor sponge seal material
I found some at the local OSH Hardware store. You can buy it in different thicknesses.
