So im really handy with 4xs but i am building a 2wd 84. My question is what part of the rotor do i measure to find out if i have a 1.25" or 1" rotor for drop spindles? sorry if it has been covered. thanx in advance.

the thickness off the rotor. thats all it is..realy easy to measure

usually if your is a regular 1/2 ton it has 1.00 rotors if its a heavy half it usually has 1.25 rotors

Completely false. 1.25" rotors were standard on 73-80 (or 81) trucks, 81+ typically had 1" rotors...some may have had the 1.25" units. ALWAYS measure when ordering drop spindles, it could cost you big $$ if you guess or assume.

No sweat man...the whole "what size brakes do I have" comes up at least once a month around here. Just trying to spread the word.
