56 made2drag
well, i've been seeing this 56 for 3 or 4 years sitting in a junkyard. we made a deal on it for 500 cash. it's going to be a tough project, but i've always wanted one. the guy said it had been sitting in the same spot for 25 years....

but were talking at least 5 years before i will be putting an engine in it. body work and suspension will take 5 years since its going to be a truck fairly neglected due to my lack of time or money. i've got a 67 c10 i've had for 5 years that's been neglected and ive only driven it about 10 miles. i drive it a mile or 2 twice a year. the main reason i bought it, was the guy sent a buch of his cars to the crusher and i wanted to make sure i got this one and put it on the back burner.

Re: 56 made2drag
Check out "Sloth's Build" in the projects and builds section. Looks like you both are starting on the same page, LOL.
Good luck with it. At least you have realistic expectations as far as time for the build. |

Re: 56 made2drag
id put this entire body on a new chassis, wouldnt touch the body one bit. id leave it just the way it is, and rock it everywhere

Re: 56 made2drag
i have thought about knocking the scale off and letting the severe patina stay and maybe fix outside metal and let it rust again. ive seen several threads where people change to another chassis and it may definetely be cheaper and way more effective since im almost starting from scratch anyway. a friend of mine had a 69 rolling frame for 200 bucks but that was 2 years ago. i have to find out if he still has it

Re: 56 made2drag
i tried to put to 5 lug steelies on the rear. got the right side off but the 5 lug pattern was smaller than the 5 on 5 chevy wheel off my 86 c10. can anyone tell me what kind of rear end this is? the coilover setup looks fairly stock to the rear end. i know its not factory but i dont know year and make. i didnt count the bolts on the pumpkin yet. the back side (side facing the rear bumper)is like a ford 9 inch alittle because its smooth. any help indentifing it would be great...the guy said it was stock like that?
