61 Steering Upgrade - Couple Questions

I am gathering parts to do a power steering swap and a steering/suspension rebuild.

I have a steering box and pump from an 81 C30 with a hyrdoboost. I am not running the hydroboost, so I assume I need power steering hoses from a non-hydroboost truck. Does anyone know what years I should look for?

Also, I am going to get new upper and lower ball joints, inner and outer tie rods, and adjuster sleeves. Anything else I should get while Im at it?

Here is what I have so far:

Looks like 80 to 88 is all the same hose c10/c20/blazer/jimmy ect. you will need to cap off the one return port on the pump as it is not used without the HYD boost

Rock auto shows a first design and a second design for the pressure hose. One is 26" and the other is 31". Should I just get both and see what works better on the 61?

Re: 61 Steering Upgrade - Couple Questions

So Im getting tie rods and PS hose from Rock Auto. I need to find lower ball joints, but the only place that has them wants $140 each! CPP doesn't know when they will have more. They are saying 140 day backorder.

Even $120 seems high. CPP has them for $40 when they are in stock.

For now I will swap in the PS parts and do the tie rods. Once thats done ill do the ball joints.

Re: 61 Steering Upgrade - Couple Questions

Mine was basically the same, only with idler arm included. Not Moog, but for the money,it works for me. Mine went right together,no problems.

Re: 61 Steering Upgrade - Couple Questions

Ya, I saw that one too. I thought about getting it, but I already have an extra idler arm, so I figured I would save a bit of money
