couple ?
couple of questions here.
first, how do you get the knobs off of the radio to remove it from the dash. i've got some problems with my am radio and i want to pull it to see what the problem is or take ot to someone who can fix it. secondly, i was having some problems with my heater hfan motor. i trying to isolate the problem i connected it straight to the battery. the thing ran at a much higher speed than it usually does off of the heater controls in the cab. while keeping it grounded, i hooked the positive terminal to the battery and again got a much higher rpm on the motor. thus i've isolated it to the positive connection. question. does the heater control normally kick down the amount of juice going to the motor or do i have a problem and where should i look. lokks like the heater control connects to the box under the dash. i however have not cracked it being the novice i am and not knowing what i'm going to get into. thanks in advance. ------------------ 1970 GMC 1500 Custom. 307 V8. knobs just pull off simpe
heater motor speeds are controlled by two resistor springs mounted on an asbestos fiber boardmounted int he cab on top side of heater box, one is thicker shorter wire spring and ot ther is longer finer wire spring, the finer one has more resistance and is what lo speed operates through, the other is medium, and no spring for direct hi speed. ------------------ Randy- Lincoln, IL randy@ccaonline.com -71/C-10(thx teeitup and crews!)350 4+4/CH465(thx 71Chev, GMCPaul, and CPNE)longfleet bed(thnx meathead95)!very apart and not driveable still..... -'84 Z28 H.O. 305 L69 700R4 GT4 3.73 - 1984 Firebird SE 2.8L T-5 GT4 3.73 -1981 Cutlass Supreme, dunno what im gonna do with it yet... -79 G20 pass van, 350/th350/10bolt *Paint is overrated © RSS Enterprises 2000 |
