I bought the truck I am working on now for parts while working on my 71, drove it all the time I was in college and then sold it to my father-in-law fo a fire wood truck. Last summer he calls and says "if you want this piece of ---- back come get it" so that is what I did. He was going to crush it, now it is off the frame, new rockers and sheet metal, frame is painted and frony end is rebuilt w/ps this time, new motor ready to go in and trans I got at Autofair is set into place... hopefully by summer it will be a running rolling chasis again. Hope this counts- I hated to see the old truck go to waste- snake skins and all hahaha. Harold

I have owned the same lime green 71 c-10 3 different times, and regret the final sale as I will never get it back from the present owner.
A quick pic I took many years ago after waxing the interior to make it brighter..lol:

I bought my 69 LWB Fleet 20 years ago from the widow of the original owner and have kept it original until a few months ago when I put a crate 350 with HEI. Still has original paint, but hope to repaint soon. I kept the original 307 and have some heads to put back on it. May put it back in one day to keep it original - except may stay with the HEI.

I got one back in a way I wasn't expecting. Sold a 1971 1/2t 2 wd to a guy and he never changed over the paperwork and when it came time to re-new the tabs he just left it on the side of the road. Police called me and I went there with a extra ignition switch, drove it home, got the new paperwork done and sold it AGAIN. Who knows maybe I'll get it back again.

I bought my first 70 Chevy truck from my sister, restored it and then sold it to my neighbor. My neighbor lost her job so I bought it back and then sold it to my other sister! I also owned a 1956 International S-120 truck twice. Bought it, drove it then sold it to my Dad. When Dad passed away, I got it back. Sold it to a close friend last year.

bought my truck now when i was 15 drove all through high school and when i went off to college i sold it to a guy here in town... he was going to let his boy drive it, but his boy didn't like it and wanted a 4x4 so it sat next to his house for a few years with flat tires and such.... so i graduated from college and got married and when i had the funds in order i went up to him and gave him what i sold it to him for and he agreed. so the rest is history... it will never leave my possesion again (for under $10,000)

I bought a bright yellow 72 with a 400 small block in it, and no power options. Installed power steering and brakes and drove it a year. Sold the worn out 400 for $450, and installed a used 350 that I had laying around. After that, I had about $1000 in it including new tires and wheels. Sold it to a guy for $2200, and told him if he ever wanted to part with it, to let me know. 15 months later, he let me know. I bought it back exactly as I had sold it, and I paid him $1200. I then removed the receiver hitch, and traded it straight up for my rusty Longhorn that I am in the middle of restoring.

I guess this counts I went with my father when the 68 C20 truck was bought on July 17, 1968 in Reseda, CA, paid 3231.36 new right off the show room floor.when I turn 15 starting driving to do Part runs, etc. for my Dads Company, drove till I was about 20. Dad drove it for a couple more of years, then the rear end was going out so he parked in 1982. My father died in 1983. so everything come to me. Went out to his shop and could tell people had been stealing for a while and the truck was gone, 1985 wife got a call from police saying that they thought this old truck in the desert was ours. we went out there and saw the saddest thing there it was stripped to spindles, frame and body, and a 1 burnt rear end, the back end was full of extra parts to other cars and trucks, I kept thinking- man stealing from a dead man you cant get lower than that in life. was given 24 hours to move it. put junk yard tires/rim/hubs on it. pushed it, dragged it, shoveled it out of blow sand, and towed it home with a 4 wheel drive jeep over heating.. 3 weeks later had a cheap paint job, rebuilt rear end and a new engine in it. been my daily driver ever since. drove it like that till 2 years ago when I started restoring it. got 6500.00 in it now, stilll need body work and paint and cab redo and 2 weeks ago put the frist brand new tries and rims on it in 20 years. a couple months back at the gas station a young kid came up to me a said you want to sell that old truck, old man (just turn 50)I'll give ya 500.00, I said no, he said 700.00, I said no, he laughed and said that old truck not worth a 1000.00. I said no its not worth a 1000.00. I will never get rid of my truck, been thru to many things with it and its been in my life to long,. I lost it once, but never agian. I know to some poeple it just old bolts and a metal crappy old truck. But there not, there us with every sanded part or bolt turned. or every wrench thrown and every cuss word spoken to them or said about them. ( and there has been so many) So for some of us we have gotten them back to put back together and see our visions come to life agian. There not crappy old trucks there just "Our Trucks". And for the guys just getting them to put back together for the frist time there dreams are coming to life and it dosent get any better than that in life. Ok off my soap box.

My RestoRod has been in & out of my posession but I never sold it. It was stolen from me about 6 months after I bought it in 1987.
I got it back about a year later . . . ..... kinda' damaged, but I did get it back.

I've only owned mine for about 6 months, but I don't see it going anywhere soon. I'd buy my 71 Cutlass back in a hearbeat if I had unlimited money to fix it up like I always wanted to. It was my first car and I owned it for 14 years. I sold it because it needed too much cosmetic work.

That's exactly how it went with me, longbed to shortbed, and the longbed was a 454. Strange.

My longbed 454 was fairly straight but it had a strange transmission setup in it. The PO had put a Camaro M21 4 speed in it and converted the driveshaft to 1 piece. I tried several things to get an annoying vibration out of it but I never could. Sold the truck to a young fellow from Colorado Springs. He was happy to get a big block truck. It was FAST....had a 4:56 gear set in it with Posi. Fun to drive.

Yea, I'd imagine there would be a vibration, that would be a long driveshaft. My truck was an original 402/400 truck. When the cam went flat (suprise) I put in a 454. I sold mine to a kid Parker for probably not enough.

I owned the same Vega several times once.
I sold it,he didn't come and get it,sold it to the same guy a few months later,he still left it(payed for it both times ),gave it to my brother, and traded for it back, sold it to a different friend,he took it and gave it back to me a few weeks later, and I finally traded it for a stereo I later had a chance to get it back again and passed
