White Hubcaps with Yellow or Blue Bowtie - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

What years/models/package did the white with yellow and blue bowtie hubcaps come on? Trying to decide which to put on my 72 super when the steelies get back from the powder coat shop. I haven't found anywhere that makes the distinction of which had yellow and which had blue bowties. Maybe it was just an option at purchase?

69-72 were blue, 73 and up were yellow

Krylon makes a blue thats close- if you want to mask them off

I had a sign painter I know change the color of the bowtie from yellow to blue and repaint the black. Looks like brand new.

Very nice. I'm pretty sure the stainless are for later years, but they would look nicer in my opinion with the white steelies. Thanks for sharing

Also, the 69-72 3/4 ton were concurved, whereas the 73 3/4 ton were concaved. However, in the late 72/early 73 years, GM began making 3/4 ton replacements for 69-72 3/4 tons using the 73 up tooling, which were concave.

What dictates white or stainless/chrome? Sounds like 69-72 were blue....concave for a C10, convex for 20's?

Painted caps on base models- shiney stuff was a upgrade (like your super). I believe all 1/2 ton caps are concave- regardless of the year

I have a pair of full covers (NOS), pair of white with yellow, one white with blue, and 5 chrome with yellow - (2 NOS). I will keep looking for chrome with blue for a little while, hate to paint over, especially the NOS. However, as the warm weather comes the Krylon might get the job. Thanks to all who helped.
