Reproduction side view mirror arms
I bought two side view mirror arms from Classic Parts and noticed they are different lengths. The passenger side is longer. Tip to tip it is 11-7/8” where the driver side is 11”. Assuming they are meant to be the same, which one is the correct length?

Re: Reproduction side view mirror arms
Passenger side is longer to set mirror out and back a bit for better viewing from drivers seat.

Re: Reproduction side view mirror arms
Yep, your assumption is incorrect. The wing vent interferes on the passenger side, so the arms are longer. In earlier GM trucks, such as Advance Design, the mirrors have completely different bends for this reason.

Re: Reproduction side view mirror arms
Ah, so it's because the passenger mirror is usually adjusted to a different angle than the driver's mirror. Thanks for clearing that up!

Re: Reproduction side view mirror arms
Not related to the angle the mirror is adjusted to - it is longer to provide a less obstructed line of sight from driver's design eye to the mirror head (A-pillar, vent window frame, etc)
