wheel help

I have a 61 that I have installed a front crossmember from a 85. Got 6 lug rotors and cpp drop spindles. Looking at the cragar delux 69 wheels. Should I go with 15 by 7 or 8 and what kind of back spacing? Rear end is staying stock for know what's a good fit for the rear. Tire size suggestions also would be great. Thanks for the great forum. Could have not gotten as far as I halve without everyone's help

The tire width will help decide what wheel width to choose.
The 235/75R15 tire can go on a 7" or 8" wide rim and is a common choice and looks good. A wider tire like a 255/70R15 probably needs a 8" wide rim.

Do a little reading about what the numbers mean when you see tire sizes listed.

As far as wheel back spacing, I think 3.5" to 4" is about right. Any more than that and you will likely need wheel spacers, which adds to the hassle and cost. Make sure you do a test fit with the wheels you choose before you install tires. Make sure the front caliper clears the rim. Also, make sure the rear wheels have a big enough bore hole for the rear hub. It'd be a real shame to spend all that cash and find out that they don't fit.

This is my '60 with American Racing smoothies, 6-lug, 15 x 8's. Front tires were 255 60 15 and rears were 275 60 15. These wheels were purchased between 1989-1990 but if I remember correctly, the BS was 4". The truck has 2.5" drop spindles and 6-lug discs on these pics. Hope this helps.
